You can get SOME data from http://facebook.com/ads/create -- it depends (I believe) on people supplying correct data. Many don't

Regardless, that's just plain sloppy work by Buzzpoint. Citing your sources is basic.

And for that matter, sloopy on TechCrunch, too, who appear to just credulously swallow the numbers.
Skepticism is a virtue.

What's interesting of course is that -- when we see this kind of sloppy reporting in an area where we feel comfortable and well-informed -- it's glaringly obvious.
But when we see it in areas where we're less at home (politics, say, or education policy, or foreign affairs) we aren't necessarily able to distinguish that same sloppiness.
I don't think that Buzzpoint or TechCrunch are unique here. That's what's worrying.
